Packed Lunch #2

Recently, I found a new bakery near my old college that sells freshly made bagels. Bagels people! In Malaysia! Maybe I haven’t been around enough but my only experience with bagels are those frozen ones from the supermarket. And they weren’t really that good. I took my intrigued self to this new bakery and bought myself *gulp* 24 bagels. I know. I overdid it.

Aren’t they gorgeous? Ah, but these bagels freeze very well. I took a few out for my mom and kept the rest in a freezer grade Ziplock bag. When I want a bagel, I wet it with water and reheat it in the oven on 150C for 10 minutes, then slice them to half and heat them for a further 5 minutes. Fresh, warm and just great.

So I figured I’d better start eating them before they develop freezer burn or something horrible like that. Today I had the poppyseed one simply with strawberry jam and nutella along with a cup of java. Ah, great lunch. It’s light enough yet really filling! 

Can’t wait to dig into the other flavours!
