Mozzarella Blueberry Nutella Sandwich

It has come to my attention that April is the National Grilled Cheese Sandwich Month. Not that it has anything to do with me seeing I’m not part of that “Nation”. But you know, any excuse to indulge in cheesy sandwiches is a good excuse to me. Even when I’m recovering from a bout of sore throat and cough. πŸ˜‰

I went the sweet and savoury route for this because:~

  1. I had extra blueberry sauce screaming out to be used (recipe for that particular dessert to come soon!)
  2. I didn’t have fresh mozzarella balls seeing they cost 3 times as much as packaged mozzarella
  3. Packaged mozzarella is pretty salty
  4. I wanted chocolate in the morning

And so, I slapped the few things I craved for that particular morning to produce this monster.Mozzarella Blueberry Nutella Sandwich 1

No, this isn’t a grilled sandwich. I merely toasted the bread, laid on the cheese, broiled it for a minute then slather on whatever I wanted over. It’s rustic, hasty, not very pretty but it was right. Just right for that very moment.Mozzarella Blueberry Nutella Sandwich 2

And guess how I ate it. Yeah, smooshed together into a thick glob. Chocolate, blueberry, cheese. Only thing left to do is devour.Mozzarella Blueberry Nutella Sandwich 3

Well, and Instagram of course. πŸ˜€Mozzarella Blueberry Nutella Sandwich

This is my little homage to the wonderful amalgamation of all that’s right in sandwich paradise.
Cheese, crispy bread, tart and sweet berry sauce and nutty chocolate.
Excuse me while I go make another.

Trust you’re having a lovely lovely weekend!

xoxoxo, Jayne

  1. Wow, Jayne! A gut-buster for sure. You must have needed that to recover from your illness. Not for me just now, but it sure looks good.

    • Haha… Nutella does wonders. I had strawberry jam and Nutella sandwich for breakfast the day before as well. Probably not the best remedy for chesty cough but it does lift my mood up a little.

  2. Whoa, that’s an innovative sandwich. I think I would’ve loved that when I was pregnant! πŸ™‚

    • haha… It’s a mish mash of whatever I had in the fridge. Plus Nutella of course. I can’t imagine how many jars of that stuff I might wipe out if I get pregnant myself!

Tell me more!
