Grateful **(Giveaway Winner Announcement)**

It was a treat reading all the comments you lovely people left on my giveaway post. As an entry, I requested that people say what they are grateful for. Some people were grateful for the big things in life (job, family, health) & some were grateful for the little things (weather, food). I really enjoyed getting to know you, albeit in those few words.

It’s such a great exercise each day to just settle in every night before falling asleep to think of what you have to be grateful for each day. We heard today about a lady beaten up badly by her family for her faith and the enforcers cannot do anything to help her because where she lives, such abuse happens too frequently. We are aware of how tumultuous life is in the Middle East. We see a lot of people living with much much less than we can every imagine each and every day.

It’s easy to skim over and ignore all these because you know, the rubber hasn’t hit the road yet. What does it have to do with me? I, like millions every day, struggle to remain content and just generally grateful for all I have.

A lot of times when we hear about others, we like to say, “Well, I had it worse!” I think the simplest, least way to react is to pray for them, think about them and just be grateful. Be thankful that in whatever circumstance we’re in, we’re still breathing. We’re still alive. We can still affect others and live a fruitful life. Even in a tiny tiny way. Small ripples can create gigantic waves.

And with all that said, I’d like to announce the winner of my Joy The Baker Cookbook Giveaway!

  1. 🙂 Thanks for the opportunity to try and win. I received every comment notification from the giveaway blog. It was nice seeing comments of things people were thankful fill up my inbox…for real! Have a good day! Totally unrelated; What do the black eggs taste like (century eggs, I think)?

    • Thanks for participating! I really enjoyed reading every comment too. Sometimes is so important just to sit back & see all the things we have, rather than all the things we want! 🙂
Century eggs? Some people would describe them as pungent with a little bit of a sulphuric quality to them. The whites are brown & translucent with a gelatinous bite. The yolk is almost grey but creamy & the strongest tasting part. Very much an acquired taste and I absolutely love them! I just feel they add a very deep savouriness to a dish.
