What else is unreal? The combination between canned tuna in olive oil & fresh cherries. “WHATTTT?!” I hear you say. I know. It’s weird. But good weird.  Cherry Tuna Salad 2

I had a few fresh cherries sitting in the fridge after I scarfed down the rest of the carton. And I was craving tuna salad (not sure what that says about me). I decided to take a risk & throw some chopped cherries into the mixture & hope for the best.

But to be honest, it’s not that big of a stretch. We put lots of lemon on fish all the time. Cherries are fruity & fresh tasting. And it’s in season now!

It’s also kinda pretty looking, right? Festive even!

Here’s my attempt to appear educated & sophisticated.

But in real life, I had to stave off a fuzzy puppy who’s in desperate need of some grooming and WANTS my food. (He got a teeny tiny bit of tuna from the can.. just a teeny bit.)

On an unrelated note, I’m a sofa-leg-curler. Hence the toes. Sofas call out to me that way. I’m pretty sure I’m normal and those who don’t do so are the odd ones out. ♥

Really though, the fresh cherries & cucumber complements tune in olive oil so well! Definitely my combo of choice from now on. 🙂

Serves: 1
  • ½ cups (1 can) Tuna packed in Olive Oil
  • 3 fresh Cherries, pitted & quartered
  • 1 inch of Japanese Cucumber, quartered & sliced thinly
  • 1 tsp fresh Lemon Juice
  • 1 tbsp Japanese Sesame Salad Dressing
  1. In a medium bowl, mix everything together.
  2. Pile up on a slice or 2 of toast.
  3. Chow down!
