Fajita Beef Burger

Some weeks ago I made some burger patties. And then they were stashed into the freezer for however long it was until I remembered I had them in there. So here we are, on a night I didn’t know what to make for dinner.

Since I seasoned a few burgers with fajita seasoning, I decided to go all out fajita with all the fixings ie red pepper & onion. I had some little eryngii mushrooms so I decided to matchstick them as well. More texture, more flavour.

Saute all the ingredients with more fajita seasoning. If you don’t have fajita seasoning, any other spice mix is alright. Oh oh oh… cajun seasoning would be fabulous. I went and cooked each topping separately just because I wanted to top things up nicely but you can totally mix everything up.

Grilled buttered buns is a must.

Hubs loves mayo and I like mustard. So there. If you hate either, you can use some guacamole or… more butter?

I’m silly because I forgot to take a decent picture of the finished grilled burgers. But anyway, this is my assembly line!

I like having the lettuce at the bottom so that the tomato & burger juices don’t sog up the bottom bun.

So I like to place my cheese on the burger in the pan for them to melt properly. I don’t like hard chewy cheese in my burger. Just a personal preference. It’s your burger. Do what you want. 😀

Little burgers! Stacked up high.

This is your homemade fast food. I served the burgers with some oven-roasted wedges. Awesome!

This definitely takes more effort  than walking into a fast food joint and ordering yourself a burger. But it’s the satisfaction of making and eating, right? Even then, the effort is miniscule but the payout is all worth it. I still have a few more patties in the freezer. Burgers tonight maybe!
